Engaging with private and public sector organisations as well as customers and end users, this activity will understand and influence current last mile logistics behaviour and practices. The aim is to help businesses to appreciate the economic, social and environmental benefits of utilising consolidation centres and sustainable modes of transport for last mile operations. Through a series of workshops, private and public sector organisations will be encouraged to collaborate to implement urban transport and freight plans.
Retailers will be engaged in the project to understand the challenges of customer and end user behaviour – this information will be used to create a communication campaign to raise awareness and promote the benefits of utilising a more structures and co-ordinated approach to sending and receiving goods.
