Institute for International Transport Law (IDIT)
IDIT is a research institute based in Rouen (France) which specialises in law and regulation for all modes of transport and logistics. IDIT has a wide European expertise in fields relating to legal problems including legal aspects in freight consolidation, sustainable transport and logistics with last miles logistics.
The IDIT team consists of jurists specialised in transport and logistics laws. IDIT counts approximately 120 members develops correspondents’ network which allows it to answer multiple needs, in particular by the analyses of comparative laws in Europe.
1/ Act as specialist in laws and regulations applied to last miles logistics, particularly in terms of liabilities, contracting and insurance aspects and legal structures / arrangements created for the distribution of goods in urban areas.
2/ Provide relevant inputs from former transnational or national projects (i.e. Interreg IIIA – Interreg IVB – Research Projects – Studies with French Ministry of Transports) on last miles logistics
3/ Work on:
a/ the impact of laws (transfer of the responsibility between various providers..) in the field of last miles deliveries in Paris and in Normandy (i.e. Rouen Urban Distribution Center,). This will be done jointly with regional actors sharing experiences at transnational EU level.
b/ Legal arrangements and structures created for goods distribution in urban areas (distribution – consolidation centre….). The enhancement of regional on-going projects in Paris/Normandy area in synergy with the other EU experiences held in other NWE regions in the frame of the project.
