LaMiLo profiled to key players in the Irish manufacturing industry

A meeting of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA)’s Rail Freight Group took place at the Royal St. George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire near Dublin on 2 October, where LaMiLo was profiled to members.

LaMiLo partner Nick Gallop provided an update on the Northfleet investment which is developing an intermodal rail exchange to enable better and more sustainable freight flows between Northfleet and the North of England as well as with the rest of mainland Europe.

The primary objective of the IEA rail freight Group is to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of Irish based manufacturing Industry through more effective plant to port access and, also to give such exporters access to information on the sustainable freight logistics options for their exports within the EU and further afield.

The 21 strong attendees included the CEO of Irish Rail and senior representatives of the department of Transport, the major Irish ports, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and related trade associations together a number of exporters. Among those who attended were the Irish LaMiLo project observers – the national Transport Authority and Rosslare Europort.
