Perth and Kinross Council (UK)

Perth and Kinross Council is the local government council for the Perth and Kinross area of Scotland. It was created in 1996, under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.

The Council provides a variety of services to the community including education; social work services for children and families; community, cultural and active recreation services; adult community care; social housing services; planning and regeneration; roads; public transport; environmental health; food health and safety; trading standards; and waste services.

A key aspect of the environmental health service is to review air quality under the Air Quality Standards (Scotland) Regulations 2010, and where concentrations of major air pollutants , impact on public health, to establish an Air Quality Management Area and develop an Air Quality Action Plan.
